Tokenized Real-World Assets Hit $26.5B as Animoca Predicts $400T Multichain Future

Tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) could eventually represent trillions of dollars in value, with Animoca estimating a $400 trillion addressable market spanning private credit, Treasurys, commodities, equities, and global bonds. While the current tokenized RWA sector remains small at $26.5 billion, it has surged 70% this year to an all-time high, signaling growing institutional confidence. Private credit and U.S. Treasurys dominate nearly 90% of the market, but asset managers are in a strategic race to build full-stack platforms capable of controlling the entire asset lifecycle. Ethereum currently leads RWA tokenization with 55% of market share—76% when including layer-2 networks—thanks to its security, liquidity, and developer ecosystem. However, Animoca researchers stress the future will be multichain, with interoperability critical as high-performance networks challenge Ethereum’s dominance. The growth of RWAs is also fueling demand for related crypto assets like Ether and Chainlink, both of which have recently outperformed the wider market.
