American Bitcoin, a bitcoin mining company backed by Eric Trump, Donald Trump Jr., and Hut 8, has secured investor support for an all-stock merger with Gryphon Digital Mining, enabling it to start trading on Nasdaq under the ticker ABTC in early September. Eric Trump, Donald Trump Jr., and Hut 8 will collectively own 98% of the new entity. The company plans to expand globally, seeking crypto assets in Hong Kong and Japan, and aims to give investors access to publicly listed bitcoin holdings. Hut 8, originally a crypto miner, has shifted focus to energy infrastructure and data centers.
